Returning to a (somewhat) normal day-to-day life is still out of reach for most, not to mention the usual date nights out. We’ve put together a list of five romantic date night ideas that you can pull off at home!
At Home Date Night Ideas
1. Dinner for Two by You
Bring the fine-dining ambiance home!
Wow your significant other and whip up that special dish you haven’t made in a while or try out that new recipe you’ve been eyeing up.
To really step it up a notch, tell your special someone that you have “reservations” at a certain time and to get all dressed up as if you are actually going out!
You can set the mood by adding a tablecloth, nice tableware, candles and soft lighting. Bon appetite!
2. Backyard Movie Night
Need a little fresh air? Plan an outdoor movie night in your backyard (or on your balcony or patio).
Set the mood by stringing up some twinkle lights (find those Christmas decorations!), lighting some candles or lanterns and make an outdoor lounge area with cushions, blankets and lots of pillows.
Pick out your favorite feature film, fire up the popcorn and enjoy the show!
3. Binge Watch a New Series
Looking for a more long-term commitment? Try starting a new show! We’ve compiled a list of 5 shows to stream during your social distancing nights which you can see by clicking here.
4. Digital-Free Night
Trying to escape the news, social media, and all things digital for that matter? Have a digital-detox night!
For any date night at home, it’s important to disconnect from digital screens.
Put all of your handheld devices in a drawer or different room of your home and log off.
Pass the time away by reading a book, playing a game of cards or starting a puzzle.
Digitally detoxing can be great for your mental health and can help you feel less stressed with everything going on in the world, even if only for a few hours.
5. Wine Tasting
Have a few bottles of wine you’ve been saving? Bring your favorite vineyard to you and have a wine tasting night at home!
Create a comment card and make notes of each wine you taste (likes, dislikes) and compare with your significant other to see which you both liked more or less.
To make it even more fun, pair certain snacks you have at home with each glass. Don’t be afraid to get creative with it!
Use what you have at home, each choose a pairing and see how well the other does.
